The Ballet

Did I ever mention that I had never been to the Ballet until recently? Well it's time to cross this one off of list. I have now been to the Ballet. My sister went to the chiropractor and he so kindly gave us tickets to see " Dracula" the ballet. Images were in my head of some really hot guy like Barishnokov dancing in his toe shoes, ballet going to be dark and romantic. No such luck.

They start off with about 5 ballerinas doing a little "ta da!!! number, which was amateurish at best. The oldest ballerina was around 14 years old.  It was slightly painful to watch.

Now mind you, the setting has alot to do with the production. Right now you are probably thinking "Civic Center", Valley View Sports Arena, no wrong again. We drove to beautiful kearny mesa, about  2 miles from where I live and it was behind an industrial building.

They yanked the chain and the door to the Storage Space opened, we knew were in trouble (like my sister always says, "Ah boy"). There were 3 rows of carefully arranged folding chairs. No expense spared there!!

My sister says, "Let's go". But I feel bad because they will definitely notice if we leave, so we soldier on through and the 2 act "Dracula" begins.

Picture this, the character homer simpson, with buck teeth wearing a cape, plodding along. OMG!! I had all I could do not to burst out laughing. This is there idea of Dracula?? Is there a hidden camera? Are we being punked? I mean, come on I'm not famous why are  you playing a joke on me?

It continues for about an hour, and it's hot in there. Really hot, I'm sweating, trying not to laugh for an extended period of time has been a real exercise. But at least I can say I have now been to the Ballet.
