LA Riots-has it been that long ago??
The anniversary of the LA riots is today, I think it's twenty years. or twenty-five. Whatever, it went by so fast, doesn't matter, here's my story, my friend Annette, it was her birthday and she wanted to go see " Phantom of the Opera in LA for her birthday, at the I think Schubert? or Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, I can't remember where we saw it, but I have the stub somewhere, $40. back then that was really expensive. So, this must mean this is Annette's birthday, I have to see if I can find her and wish her a happy birthday, okay, back to my little tale. We got the tickets and low and behold, the verdict of the cops on trial for the beating of Rodney King, well that came out that day. The city was set on fire. Businesses were destroyed, I'm not sure if anyone was killed. But I do know that my family asked me not to go see this play. My answer, "And waste $40.00, no way!!" So I was off to Los Angeles with my friend Norma, Annette and her mother. It wasn't until we reached the City of Commerce that you could see the impending doom. This may not be the smartest idea I'd ever had, what the hell, you only live once, right, as far as we know anyway!! I had driven too far to turn back, and I had a ticket, I was going to a real play, even though I wasn't really looking forward to it. I was really a wild child at the time. To look at me now, you would never know it. I was really really wild. HONESTLY. I had fun. I used to go out dancing a lot with my friends and we had fun. That was the extent of it though. I used to drink a bit too. Anyway, The play, is still amazing, I love it so much, it's part of my soul. , then we get outside, and the national guard is pointing their RIFLES at us, and threatening to SHOOT US. I felt safer walking on the sidewalk. They were nuts. I got up early and drove home just in case they were going to wake up early and set the city back on fire, and was at work the next day at 8:00. Didn't miss a minute. I worked a saturday. I needed the money. I would today if I had a job. Well Goodnight, hopefully the city will never burn again, I haven't been there in at least 5 years. No one notices me anyway.

Marilyn Monroe is on Tv
I love her, I feel my life has a parallel to her. It's freaky at times. I don't want to continue...I think that I may have been related to her. Just maybe
make a soldier smile
I just saw a story on HLN, to make a soldier smile in IRAQ, get a gift package together of gag gifts of sorts, you know whopee cushions, I don't know puzzles, hand held video games, maybe ipods, that can be shipped to IRAQ, that would be great, anyone that could help is a saint. Soldiers give up their lives for our freedom, take that into consideration everyday!!
one night on ashford: I need to move
one night on ashford: I need to move: As soon as I get a job, the first thing I need to do is move. That's the first thing on my list is MOVE. Not buy clothes, but MOVE. I hate i...I was in a bad mood last night, Once I get a job I really want to move, I'm not sure where yet, but I want to be on my own, get some independence. That would be really nice. It's way past due. Then I'd have to change the name of my blog, but that's not a big deal. I think my sanity is a bigger deal.

The Darryl Hall Show
I hope that everyone watches the Darryl Hall show that he has on cable, today I saw his performance with Finger 11. What a great show. He is one of my all-time favorites anyway. I can remember him back to "Sara Smile" when I think I was just 10 or 11. That was in the 70's, and it was on "American Bandstand. Kids nowadays don't have anything but American Idol to see artists live, or what we thought was live, mainly lip-syncing. I still love that show anyway. Most of the crap they have on there I could do without, back to Darryl Hall, I would walk through fire to see him sing, he's that good. And it's real music, no electronic WA-WA crap, just honest music, like Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, you know it's them singing no overdubs, you get what you are paying for, real music. I love some of these people I'm not naming them, cause I've bought some of their CD's, (yes I did) and they are fun, and they have star power, but talent...is marginal. Give me Darryl Hall any day of the week.

To borrow from John Lennon, " A day in the life"
I read the news today, Oh boy... I'm so sad. One of my all-time favorite singers is in a coma and not expected to make it. His Wife Dwina and brother Barry are holding a beside vigil. I've been in their situation and let me tell you it is the worst place in the world to be. The waiting is the hardest part, you know that death is inevitable, but are always hoping that maybe their will be some sort of miracle, they happen sometimes, I'm proof that they do. But for the most part, it's the other way around. Cancer sucks. I don't know if that's what he had, because I'm getting second hand reports, of course I'm not family so I have no way of getting reports any other way would I?? I forget that I'm not that special....Whoops!!! Silly me!! It's kind of like when I was a little kid, I had a thing for Snow White, so now that I am an adult all these Snow White movies are being made, just like when I was a kid, everything was that way then too. Snow White and Rose Red, Snow White and The 3 Stooges, that was miserable!! I have to go see the Julia Roberts movie, but what I really want is just a JOB!! To make some money, cash so I can move out!!! Get a new car!! Get a life!!

Does Anyone Else have the HOTS FOR BLAKE SHELTON???
OMG THIS MAN IS HOT!!! If you haven't watched "The Voice" due to you hate singing shows, shame on you. Watch it just because it has two of the most gorgeous men on the face of the earth. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. It's an interesting concept too. I'm not going to explain it, you have to watch it. But it's different than American Idol, and I haven't wanted to throw a brick through the TV when they send someone home on this show. I take their word for it. Yes I'm still pissed. That kid with the hair could SING his ASS off!!! You will be hearing from him, take my word for it!!!

the South African
The names have been changed to protect the innocent. I'm not talking golf. Okay, he carried a briefcase wherever he went with a bottle of El presidente brandy in it. We knew him for a short while. A friend of my sister. No name necessary. Anyway. He carried a fetish for let me tell you...penises...he would cut out pictures of them and paste them on pictures of ladies. Freaky city. My sister found out before she married him, he was on websites like penisville...pack a lunch kids, we're going to penisville.
Parade Magazine-titanic style
The other day I went to see the Titanic in 3-D, and it kind of overwhelmed me. The flood of emotions hit me, and I wanted to cry. But I didn't. I've seen it before, so I knew what was coming, so I was prepared and I didn't cry and just thought, yes this is really sad and it's a tragic love story. So, today, in the Parade magazine there is a news story on the couple that was the couple that was the one in the bed in one of the last scenes of the movie, you know the one where the shipe is going down, and they were in bed, so I was like OMG! I have to tell my sister, so I rny down the hall clutching this magazine. Bust into the bathroom, where she's at. Ok, I'll set the scene, she's in a towel. just in a bra, I have zero regard for anyone when I'm on a mission, I just have to show you this story, so I precede to show her this article, and act it out for her, clutching the paper to my heart. After I completely depress her, she asks, "Can I get dressed now?" I guess. Happy Easter everyone, I'm going to go see the exhibit this week, it's reduced to $19.12. for the anniversary price. I'll report back to give you a review.Love and kisses.

Bullying
I'm watching Dateline right now, and it's about bullying, and I can think back to times I've been bullied, both at home and at work, school, and at work. I can remember names of people all the way back to when I was 3 years old. People think it doesn't shape a person's life, well think again.
